Description of Incident
The death of a teenager who drowned in a Norfolk lake has been ruled "accidental" by a coroner.

Zabullah Assardi, 15, from Staffordshire, was at a family barbecue at Whitlingham Broad on the outskirts of Norwich in August 2008.

He was swimming in Little Broad with a friend but disappeared under the water.

Coroner Bill Armstrong recorded a verdict of accidental death. The inquest was told the county council had not assessed lake safety.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will now decide whether to take further action.

The friend Zabullah was swimming with was rescued safely.

But Zabullah's body could not initially be found and was later recovered by emergency services.
