Description of Incident
TWO police officers from Coventry are to be honoured for saving the life of a drowning woman.

PC Andy Place and PC Neil Revell were on patrol in Hillfields when they were flagged down by a passer-by who told them a woman was in the middle of Swanswell Pool.

The pair headed to the side of the water and discovered the woman was treading water about 20ft away from the poolside.

PC Place, who is based at Coventry Central police station and has been a serving officer in the city for ten years, said: “We tried to talk to her but she wouldn’t talk to us at first. She then told us to leave her alone, she wanted to die.
